Wisbech & District Historic Vehicle Club

About Wisbech & District Historic Vehicle Club

The W&DHVC was formed in 1989 by a group of historic vehicle enthusiasts, and is a local club that catered for all makes and classes of vehicle. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm, at the Bell Inn, Murrow. All are welcome to attend, whether car owners, club members, or not!

Since 1993 we have held an annual Road Run in August, covering a c.60-70 mile route around Cambridgeshire and Lincolnshire, with static displays in Peterborough and Wisbech - please note that the Road Run is the only event we organise that has a minimum age requirement for participating vehicles: all vehicles must be 25 years or older. We also attend various local shows and events as a Club.

Vehicles owned by Club members range in age from the 1920s upwards, and encompass most modes of road transport. There are vans and commercials; vintage and classic cars; motorcycles and scooters. Some members own classic caravans and camper vans; buses; emergency and military vehicles. Some attend shows and rallies around the British Isles and have won prestigious awards. Others are still used as everyday transport. Not all members own a vehicle; the Club is open to anyone who shares an interest with those who do.

The W&DHVC is non-profit making and any money raised throughout the year and during the Road Run is donated to charity. Since the club started, over £23,000 has been collected and distributed to local good causes.

Affiliated to the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, an organisation that exists to uphold the freedom to use old vehicles on the road, the W&DHVC now has over one hundred members. If you see us at any of your local events, come say hi and find out more!
