About Friends of Woodston Library

We are an unincorporated association of individuals who are fighting to retain Woodston Library as a resource for the community, although the council have proposed closing it and selling off the property for development. We have a core organising group, a number of volunteers who give time to the library as volunteer assistants, allowing extended hours, and others run particular events for the community, including a knit and natter group, a writers’ group and we are about to start a digital inclusion hub with the support of PCVS’s Poverty Truth Commission. All our volunteers qualify as full volunteer assistants and go through the Library’s internal volunteering approvals, including dbs checks.
