About Friends of Woodston Library
We are an unincorporated association of individuals who are fighting to retain Woodston Library as a resource for the community, although the council have proposed closing it and selling off the property for development. We have a core organising group, a number of volunteers who give time to the library as volunteer assistants, allowing extended hours, and others run particular events for the community, including a knit and natter group, a writers’ group and we are about to start a digital inclusion hub with the support of PCVS’s Poverty Truth Commission. All our volunteers qualify as full volunteer assistants and go through the Library’s internal volunteering approvals, including dbs checks.Friends of Woodston Library
