Summary
Volunteer Drivers Wanted. No minimum or maximum commitment. You pick which journeys you want to undertake. Standard HMRC mileage charge paid.Detailed description
We operate in Waterbeach (CB25) and surrounding villages.
Drivers will need to undergo a DBS check [no cost involved]
You could be taking people to Hospitals, Doctors Dentists, Opticians, or even shopping. Your passengers will be mobile but may need to take aids with them ie. walkers etc.
You are not required to physically assist them. This is a very worthwhile cause and is greatly appreciated by those that we help, particularly at this time when public transport is becoming less available.

The Beaches Community Car Service aims to provide door-to-door transport for people who do not have the use of a car and are unable to use conventional public transport. Passengers pay for the journey, but the cost is also subsidised by the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority and supported by Care Network
Journeys are arranged through the scheme’s journey co-ordinators. The lifts are provided by volunteers using their own cars. These drivers support the community by giving their time, and a mileage allowance is paid.
We are urgently looking for volunteer drivers, and also for coordinators. For further information call 07807875878 to speak to a duty coordinator, or email [email protected]
