What a great day at St Johns Church yesterday. It was amazing to see so many organisations celebrating all of the good work their volunteers do. A big thank you to the many volunteers that make such a difference to organisations in supporting local communities. A special thank you to our long serving volunteer, Jackie, seen in action here.

Join us for a cuppa and chat with our friendly Direct Payments team. Meet fellow service users and discuss any problems and queries with the team. Sometimes we have care agencies and representatives from the Council. Open to all Direct Payment clients and carers, care agencies and social services staff. Held on the first Wednesday of the month. Please park on the gravel car park and register your vehicle at reception as you enter Allia Future Business Centre. If you have a disabled car parking pass there are spaces available at the Allia entrance, but please also enter your registration number at reception and advise them where you are parked. Protecting your energy – Caring without burning out. Come and join this interactive workshop! Do you support vulnerable people through your role? Take time to focus on your wellbeing too. Led by experienced therapist Jacqui Kemp, this session combines professional insight with practical workplace application. Leave with a personal action plan to help put your learning into practice and support your long-term wellbeing at work. A practical session to help charity workers develop emotional resilience, maintain healthy boundaries, and protect their own wellbeing while supporting others. What we are looking for in a volunteer: Ideally, be a member of the South Asian or Eastern European communities Have knowledge of and links with your local community and a desire to act on their behalf An interest, passion and enthusiasm for improving kidney health (no medical training is needed) Good communication skills and basic presentation skills, to engage on a one-to-one or with a wider audience/small groups An ability to speak at least another language, relevant to your community is desirable (but not essential). Willingness to explore your local community for more opportunities to reduce health inequalities, promote the project and the work of the charity. Willing to complete a DBS check (funded by the charity)
