Detailed description

Technical Support Assistant

We are looking for a volunteer to provide technical support to our online learners. The role holder will offer a group orientation session each term, as well as pre course connection support, and to be on hand to trouble shoot any difficulties for regular ‘live’ group video meetings for two short courses per term.


This role could be done at home or at the CCA Office, 16-18 Arbury Court, CB4 2JQ.


Skills and Experience required

You need to be:

  • Confident with IT (understanding different devices)
  • Familiar with online learning platforms such as Google Classroom and Mighty Networks (training could be provided)
  • Familiar with online meeting applications such as Google Meet and Zoom
  • A good listener with patience with excellent verbal communication skills
  • Available at agreed times during the week


The assistant will be expected to attend an annual induction to ensure they are confident to uphold CCA’s values and Policies & Procedures within their role. Adult safeguarding & PREVENT training are required but can be arranged if not already held. Knowledge/ understanding of mental ill-health or learning support needs is desirable, but not necessary. The position is subject to an enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by CCA.


Expenses

CCA will provide initial training, regular supervision and cover costs of any additional data / mobile call costs incurred. Laptop / device can be provided if necessary
