Chairperson for 1st Newmarket Scout Group Trustee Board

Our current Chair will step down next year therefore there is an opportunity to overlap. Our next Trustee meeting is 12th January 7:30pm, so you are welcome to join then to see if this is of interest to you.

A vital behind the scenes role, our Trustees make sure Scouts runs smoothly, safely, and legally; meeting ~5 times a year (1.5 hours). The Trustee Board is made up the following people:

• Chair
• Treasurer
• Ex-officio trustees
• Other trustees (e.g. section leaders, parents

From managing money to making sure meeting places are in tip-top condition, the Trustee Board are a team that makes sure everything is set up properly so that young people have the best experience in Scouts.  As a team, you’ll make sure everything’s being done safely and legally, as well as connecting Scouts with your local community. You’ll collaborate, lead, and make a real difference, all while learning new skills and growing in a flexible, supportive environment.  

It's fine if you’ve not been a Trustee before. We’ll support you, making sure you learn everything you need to know, as you go, in this flexible role.
